Oh, hi there!  We're Sarah and Shawn Gluchacki, the owners of The Windmill Paper Boutique.  In celebration of Small Business Saturday tomorrow, we thought we'd share a little about ourselves.

Sarah has a BFA in graphic design and painting, and got her start working in a letterpress printing company in Syracuse, New York.  Shawn has a background in math and physics and (shockingly) has basic social skills.  We were our own first clients when we got married in August 2012, and then moved to Boca Raton to open up The Windmill.  We'll travel pretty far for craft beer and great meals, we're serious coffee snobs, and we are known among our friends to send the greatest cards for every occasion (go figure!).  We love paper, invitations, weddings, dogs, and a perfect beach day.

Holiday designs are here!

We are in LOVE with the brand new custom holiday designs we have in the shop!  Letterpress, foil, photo printing, edge paint, envelope liners, and more... these are not your typical holiday cards.  Swing by anytime to see all of the designs and options, or make an appointment to discuss your cards one-on-one.  Plus, order Smock holiday cards by December 10th and they'll rush your order at no extra cost!

Sneak peak of the store!

Lots of exciting updates today... starting with our brand new business cards!  We love the stunning black letterpress, luxurious double-thick cotton paper - and check out how gorgeous this edge painting looks!  We can't wait to start handing these out!

We also received the hang tags for our packaging from a great Etsy seller.  The 100% recycled PCW paper for the tags was special ordered to go along with our eco-friendly bags and tissue paper.  We hand stamped our logo on 500 of these!

And the best part... we've started putting our products up on the shelves!  Here's a sneak peak!

Page Stationery is here!

We are SO excited to announce that Page Stationery's custom albums have arrived!  The Windmill will be carrying Page's letterpress wedding, holiday, and baby announcement collections, as well as their amazing flat-printed stationery collection.  Here's just a small selection of this huge collection of designs:

The highlights: classic letterpress wedding designs for the traditional bride, duplexing and pockets (to get a layered effect with your invitations), digital printing (think adding a family photo to your holiday cards), and an astonishingly large selection of patterns for the back of your personal stationery (including a rugged fishing lure pattern - we're looking at you, South Florida fishermen!).

We can't wait to share this amazing collection with you!

We're making progress!

We've installed most of our signs, completed our construction work, and finished painting the walls (despite the five straight days of work, deciding on a color was by far the hardest part!). With a huge thanks to Ikea and their amazing selection, we've started installing shelving!  As you've seen, our custom albums have started arriving, and preprinted cards and other paper items will be coming in shortly as well.

Haute Papier has arrived at The Windmill!

The construction dust is still settling in our downtown Boca Raton boutique, and we're making progress on installing furniture (hold tight, we'll be sharing some before & after photos soon!).  But we just had to announce the exciting news that our first custom invitation line, Haute Papier, has arrived!

Haute Papier specializes in letterpress and foil stamping (love!), and they also offer machine calligraphy addressing to match your fonts.  With ink options, customization options, embellishment options, and so much more... there's just an endless amount that can be done with these gorgeous designs to make a totally unique creation (and did we mention the envelope liners? You HAVE to see these!).  We can't wait to show it off!

Welcome to The Windmill!

Welcome!  My name is Sarah Gluchacki, owner of The Windmill, a luxury paper boutique opening soon in downtown Boca Raton, Florida.  We're working hard to have the shop open soon, and we'll be posting updates as they happen.  In the meantime, please enjoy some information about the shop. While working as a graphic designer in an energetic letterpress invitation company, I attended a trade show and saw first-hand how excited shop owners were to bring brand new products back for their customers.  I came to realize that, although I do love designing for clients who know exactly what they want, I want to be more hands-on - guiding them along in their search for the perfect design, paper, colors, embellishments,... and that's when the idea of The Windmill was born.

So my husband and I got married, packed everything up, and moved from upstate New York down to South Florida.  Now that we're here, I am working day and night to get everything in order for the store.  We will be offering preprinted products (such as stationery sets, greeting cards, wrapping paper, sticky cubes, organizers, etc.) as well as one-of-a-kind custom stationery and invitations for any event from the most sought-after lines in the industry.

By carefully curating a selection of luxurious, exceptional paper products from the nation's top designers, I hope to bring cheerful colors, bold patterns, and chic design into the lives of everyone who enters the shop.  With a focus on eco-friendly products and practices, my goal is to bring back the art of writing heartfelt letters and the joy of receiving a beautiful card or invitation in the mail while remaining environmentally friendly.

Here on the blog, we will feature custom stationery sets we've worked on, features of real weddings and parties that we've had the pleasure of creating the paper goods for, DIY projects and ideas, inspiration boards, etiquette and design tips, how-tos, trend alerts, vendor features and more - so stop back in often!
